Description of Helmet Mirror for HubBub: Enhancing Safety and Visibility

1. Remove mirror from package. 2. Twist mirror head 1⁄4 turn. 3. Turn helmet upside down and place vinyl coated wire form end at 2:00 on helmet shell. 4. Adjust as necessary; bend the wire in the middle not at the mirror/wire junction. 5. Squeeze wire form tightly so that the mirror will not vibrate when you are riding. 6. Be Safe! Enjoy!.

HubBub is worth the money!

This is a great bike helmet mirror. However, no instructions were provided for this, but there is a how-to video on their website at hubBubcustom.com. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to attach it to my helmet because the clip can only move in one direction. But once I figured it out, it was easy. Be sure to watch the video before editing. very helpful.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

A REALLY good helmet mirror and worth the money for me.

See other great reviews for details. Check the instructions/online video for attachments, install it properly and it just stays there. I got the helmet wobbling in the back seat but the mirror is still properly adjusted. Actually stepped on the railing TWICE and it's still right. A big mirror for this guy, but I don't notice it until I want to see what's behind me.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Obsolete model

The mirror offers a good view, it is very difficult to manipulate the wire.

One last note: I like the mirror and am much more comfortable with movements from behind and when approaching. Initially, and I've ridden about 40 miles total with just the 2x mirror, this is because it's larger than other helmet-mounted mirrors (a HUGE plus for me) and tends to block the view when it's on Approaching an intersection and look to the left. I think over time"view" will become more convenient and natural.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Negative result available

Has no original assembly. Disappointing.

Unfortunately I don't like my new mirror. I have an old HubBub mirror that I LOVE. Thought the change would be the same. However, the newer model uses a longer and more flexible wire, which causes too much shaking when riding. I really wanted to like this one but now it's in a drawer and I keep using the old one, although the mirror is slowly being erased. If I could combine the new mirror with the old hanger that would be amazing.

Difficult to set up so I can see behind me

I couldn't figure out how to properly attach this to my helmet so I can see the cars behind me clearly. I watched the installation video 3 times. I flipped the helmet over and attached the 2 o'clock clip, trying different angles with a mirror and trying to bend the middle of the wire to get a better view. But every time I just don't get a good rating. I see my shoulder, or the mirror is too close to my eye, or I'm looking too far to the right or up. I played around with different angles for at…

Best Mirror Without Streaks

Best Mirror Without Streaks. I've tried cheaper mirrors of different sizes in different places on helmets, bike handlebars, folding mirrors, etc., but helmet mirrors have proven to be the best. The corners of this mirror give you a wider view than round or oval ones. I warn you - a trick before installation: make sure you have needle-nosed pliers, maybe two at hand. NEVER adjust the mirror where plastic meets metal. ALWAYS adjust the metal when putting it on the helmet and move it to the…

Safe at last!: Cycling

I examined the helmet mirrors after realizing that the handlebar mirrors were loose and unreliable. I had a cheap mirror that matched the glasses and it moved and vibrated which also made it unreliable. I had to watch a video of this mirror to figure out how to attach it as it doesn't seem to fit the way it does. When I saw this everything went smoothly and the visor on my Bell helmet was easy to put back on too. I had laser eye surgery many years ago and my left eye is the near eye. Of course,
