Best value for kitchen and dining room

I liked that the kit has everything you need to grind grain after a quick assembly. The funnel is a bit small but I plan to improve it later. I was worried it wouldn't shred well enough, but the first time I used it at minimal clearance it was too good. Has 90% efficiency but is pretty much stuck in the puree. Next time I'll open the gap a little more. Seems pretty solid. Easily powered by my cordless drill. I look forward to picking it up. Bought because I'm tired of dealing with windmill…

Pros
  • Fully adjustable roller spacing from 0.025" to 0.1" so you can fine tune the shredding to your liking.
Cons
  • Too long to wait

It just works - very well.

I ordered and assembled this for a big weekend brew - I was tired of going to the local brewery and not getting the grind I wanted. The construction went smoothly, everything fitted well, the construction time was about 30 minutes. The directions are good, the mill "feels" reliable. About 60 pounds of malt, both barley and wheat, were ground. Used an old Milwaukee drill for power. This mill was a treat. Really did his job. It was really easy to set up different grains. The best brewhouse…

Pros
  • INCLUDES a custom metal base that fits perfectly on any standard 5 or 6.5 gallon pail. Other grain mills expect you to provide your own base.
Cons
  • Neutral

Use to press oats.

I know this is for crushing barley and other grains for beer, but I really needed an affordable oat conditioner for our horses and thought it would work. It does. Except it doesn't compress the oats enough. I can't even get close to the videos in my life. The tightest or finest adjustment hardly crushes them. For now it works satisfactorily until I find a better solution. Can't rate this for curling other grains as I haven't. But it's a neat little handheld "machine" that feels well made.

Pros
  • Hullwreck can also be powered with an electric drill.
Cons
  • Some bugs

Very good and reliable mill.

I was impressed by the reliability of this grinder. Very heavy machines. Easy assembly, although the tiny funnel screws were a little tricky to install as they were so small. Using it with a Ryobi cordless drill made milling grain easier, although the metal you attach the cordless drill to is round so my drill struggles to grip and sometimes slips until you get it right . There is a flat surface to tighten the screw for the handle, but it's useless for a cordless drill. Grinds grain very well…

OK, but not perfect.

First of all, this product probably deserves 4 stars, but I'll admittedly give 3 stars in the hope that the manufacturer can give me some guidance if my main complaint stems from user error. If my complaint is actually a defect, then so be it. So I'm glad I now have my own windmill. And this one works pretty well. Keeping the latitude at 0.375 and using a BIAB brewer, I now have a consistent mash efficiency of around 82%. (Increased from 72 to 75%) There are a few issues preventing it from…
