Hunter 27182 Fan Light Control Review

fan/light control unit purchased June 2021 12/15/21 noticed a burning smell from the switch when the light was on. The smell stopped when the switch was turned off, and checking the wire connections showed no signs of a short. The junction box smells of burning.

Easy connection to light/fan. I've read that many people complain about handles breaking, but I haven't had enough time to form an opinion. My wife draws the most, she is very gentle with things. Worst of all, I texted Hunter to make sure I was ordering the right part for my new fan and he replied "everything should work". I'd rather know if that would work. The help from the Jägerfabrik is terrible.

I bought two of these switches, both broke within 30 days. On the first, the light does not go out, on the second, it flashes when the switch is off. I have a circuit tester and it confirmed that both switches are bad. I emailed Hunter Support (contact form on their website) and received no response. These switches are cheaply made and should be avoided.

I installed a new fan that didn't have a remote control - I don't need it either. But I wanted to control the light and fan without pulling the chains (this one is above the bed). This switch makes it possible. Since it controls both the light and the fan, the two switches are a little tight, but using my fingertips is fine. Just make sure you have extra wire in the switch box before you buy it, otherwise it won't work.

Installed two of these together with two Hunter ceiling fans in separate rooms. Works as advertised for dimmer lighting control and fan on/off and three speed settings. Just don't overuse the little sliders. I haven't had any issues so far, but some reviewers have had issues with them breaking or falling off. I really don't expect any problems as there are "no more kids" at home. Excellent wall management and I would buy again.

First, it works. full range dimmer. The dimmer has an additional switch on the bottom to turn it off completely without losing power. You cannot save the previous position if you turn off the light. The fan switch has operating positions 1 through 3. Position 3 is full speed, position 2 is low speed, and position 1 is almost useless as the fan spins so slowly that it doesn't do anything useful. Price - excellent value for money compared to other offers. Feature - My Hunter fan had 3 fan speed settings and worked great with this control. The light dimming function also worked perfectly. LED lamps and dimming. The controller worked well with some Revain dimmable LED bulbs. For the medium brightness range, the bulbs hum/buzz a little.
