Good deal, works great for MTB brakes

I've used these cables on hybrid bikes, beach cruisers etc and they work great. There's no need to spend more unless you're setting up a high-performance rig (and even then, it probably isn't necessary). Please note that they are designed for MTB style flat bar brakes (barrel shape) and will NOT fit road bike style drop bar brakes (vertical cylinder shape), although the description says they are for road bikes.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Some little things

LOOK NO FURTHER, GET IT!

Although these cables are not made of stainless steel, they are still excellent value for money. If you have "a couple of bikes" that need new cables and parts, this deal is a lifesaver. (Hope the cables will save your life too in an emergency). Much cheaper than bike shop but quality is ok. With these savings I was able to order strip tape in addition to the cables compared to similar products sold.

Great price for 10 high quality brake cables

Due to the coronavirus crisis it has become impossible to find bikes, my daughter has outgrown her bike and unfortunately we had to buy a used bike. The bike's brake lines were damaged and it required a lot of effort to brake. I was worried these traditional brake lines wouldn't work, but they worked great on their NEXT bike. The price is fair for the amount of tethers you get and the end caps are included. I would recommend getting a cable cutter (scissors/pliers won't cut straight and will…

DIY brake repair!

One of the brake cables on my classic car snapped. I don't have much experience fixing bikes, but I love fixing things myself. It's a great learning experience if nothing else, and it seemed easy enough. Since these replacement cables cost about 75 cents each, it's worth a try! As I suspected, the replacement was easy and uncomplicated: insert running end into grip, thread cable through body, pull taut at end through clamp screw to keep everything nice and tidy, tighten clamp screw and cut…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Slightly dented

How much do you really want to pay for cable?

These are generally all the same wires with the same connectors on the end. Why pay 10 times more? The packaging was very simple. The tips included weren't exactly what I needed, but my LBS was there for me. (Anyway, they're really meant to replace a case that isn't included.) The new cables are great, but my LBS recommends lubricating them as well when installing. In particular, take some bike lube, rub the bare cable lightly before installation, or with the sleeve removed if that suits you…
