It has holes to properly attach a 2.5" drive to the bracket, but the bracket in turn MUST be installed through the side mounting holes. I have no idea why Revain asked me to rate Clarity, Warmth or Thickness. It's a piece of bent metal! Either way, it's solid and works as a 2 1/2" to 3 1/2" drive converter BUT the installed drive geometry doesn't mechanically match the 3 1/2 drive layout. mounting holes offer a lot of flexibility. The bracket is very well made, made of metal alloy with a slightly rough texture for better grip. I tried using the side holes and although it was crazy to work as there was a lot of space between the side of the bracket and the SSD. I've often dropped a screw trying to insert it through the side hole in the side of the SSD with the tip of a screwdriver. For me the holes in the base worked much better. I know someone else commented that they don't work
