I see a pattern forming here!

My dogs love this food but this is the third time I have received a batch with missing cans. It should be obvious to someone loading these boxes that the jars are missing. The box arrived intact and was opened with the original Prime tape and still missing the test pack. I see a pattern emerging here. Very disappointed.

  • High marks for hold and durability from testers

Warning: Contains Sodium Nitrate

I regret the use of sodium nitrite in this dog food. The acidic environment in a dog's stomach encourages the formation of nitrosamines, known carcinogens. IARC/WHO classifies processed meat as a Group 1 carcinogen, in the same category as tobacco smoking and asbestos. I wouldn't feed this to a puppy for a while. The old recipe didn't have sodium nitrate, which is very disappointing.

15 year old Boston for Canned

We switched to the older version of Iams a month ago. Our reason for switching was that Lulu (our Boston Terrier) had previously eaten Iam's Pate but NOT the adult version. Her bowel movements were sometimes loose and her urge to defecate became more frequent. As we switched to this over the past few weeks, we have seen a dramatic difference in her bowel movements becoming "normal" and needing to become more normal. Lulu says thank you!

Rescuer! on Wet

My little 14.5 year old Shee-Poo was in hospice and we were trying this as a last chance to get him to eat. Random purchase to be honest. But he started showing interest and actually begged for it like his annoying old self haha. He has regained his strength and is feeling so much better that we no longer consider him in the hospice. He loves to eat it and he is way stronger and more energetic! This food literally saved my dog's life!

Got my two dogs horrible diarrhea!

Warning…. This product caused horrible diarrhea in my two 5 month old puppies. I stayed up all night cleaning the droppings in her cage every hour. I thought they drank rancid water and for two days I fed them boiled rice. And sure enough, when I fed them Iams food again, they had horrible diarrhea again for the next 24 hours. It's definitely this food. Buyers beware...they don't exclude returns! Something is wrong, I'm scared of canine botulism!

The best food for our older dog.

Our beloved dog has been on thyroid medication for about 2 years, we have also put him on glucosamine, fish oil, arthritis medication, probiotics and more. Been running for about a year, we couldn't believe how strong she was. She didn't eat dry food. About a month ago we stopped all meds and supplements and switched her to this IAMS diet. Her stools are back to normal, she loves this food and I'm glad we reward her with the best. Hope she lives longer. Thank you Lord for our beautiful puppy…

upset stomach; may not be related to this food item

Update my previous positive review. I recently received a new pack of 12 cans and fed our dog the first can - half Friday evening half Saturday morning. Later on Saturday morning he became very ill with diarrhea and vomiting. Took him to the vet on Monday; Laboratory tests did not reveal the underlying disease that caused the disease. Again he ate this food with no problem and I have no idea if his illness was caused by the food jar from the new case. I called IAMS and there have been no…

Easily digestible. Suitable for canned food

On the advice of a vet, we fed our ancient pug recipe food. At $90.00 for 24 cans ($3.75 per can), it was becoming increasingly clear that we needed to find a cheaper, yet high quality diet that would serve the old lady well. I've done a lot of research comparing prescription diet ingredients to other medications. Her Rx diet was pork based, but she always ate and digested chicken and rice well, so I tried the Iams Senior Pate formula. Using a careful conversion formula, gradually reducing and…

My older dog loves it!

Our 15 year old Beagle refused dry food and became lethargic and lethargic - we honestly thought she was very ill and afraid of the next step. She also lost weight and became too skinny. We decided to change her dog's food to see if that would help as she showed interest in OUR food but not hers. We tried a few different brands. We first tried the Hills Science Diet for adult dogs over 11 years old (expensive!). She ate it for about 4 months. and then give it up altogether. We then (slowly)…
