Worked on a 2012 Audi A6 2.0T with a persistent filter last made by an Audi dealer. Filter even when used with an 18 inch pry bar.

Works very well. I'm sure that without them I would have damaged the hull. On previous oil changes someone thought the thicker the better, maybe better for them if the case gets damaged. The key is required and costs a penny.
