Essential tool for installing a bicycle chain

The Icetoolz Cleaver Chain Hook makes it easy to reinstall an old chain or install a new chain. Ideal for bikes with derailleurs, the spring on the derailleur keeps the chain in place.

A little thick for sport

This arrived earlier than expected from Taiwan. This is a plus, thanks to the seller. However, the entire object was covered in machining oil that proved difficult to remove. I don't know what it was and since I use a very specific chain lubrication scheme I really didn't want any unfamiliar sticky treatment oils around and had to take some effort to remove them.

Pretty and small and very handy

I didn't measure it but it's about 3.5 inches long and fits in my small tool bag that I carry on my bike. This is great when you need to take a master link chain off or on. Just attach it to the chain with the master link in the middle and you don't have to try to pull the derailleur spring to loosen the master link together. It's one of those tools that you probably won't use that often, but when you do need it, it's great to have.
