Immediate difference in ignition Parts

Put them in my 2000 Chevy Silverado 5.3L. The truck now works like a spinning top. To be fair I replaced both spark plugs and wires. So I'm pretty sure a combination of all three did the trick, but my truck wobble pointed to the ignition coils. They were very easy to replace (most of the tails sucked) on my truck. Be sure to check the engine bay to see if you have round or square coils.

More problems after installing

I had a fault code on one coil so I decided to put all eight as I have 140k miles on a GMC Sierra 1500. Now I have five (5) trouble codes and the truck is serviceable until I fix it with that many misfires. I'm not sure how I test the coils to see if they're bad, but I just ordered new spark plug wires to rule that out as a potential problem. I put in new candles a few weeks ago, so that's not it.

Should fit, but no!

I have a Chevy Silverado 02 5.3L. OEM coils are either square with bolt holes vertical to the engine or integral with clamp and spark plug wire attachment points. It is a cylindrical type and the screw hole arrangement is horizontal. Rotating the spool 90 degrees is useless for the following reasons: 1. The position of the screw holes does not match the screw holes in the motor. 2. Even if the screw holes match, the clamp wire is not long enough to attach to the coil in this configuration. Too…

The jury is out. for spares

I recently received a set of 8 ignition coils from GWA Autoteile. They arrived quickly which was amazing. Installation was very easy. If other reviewers mentioned that there is a hole misalignment issue, I would attribute this to user error. The housing (bracket with screw holes) for the coil has one side with a longer hole to allow the installer to adjust the fit to the holes on their vehicle. If the installer mounts the other side (with the standard bore), it is likely that there will be…
