IHome IDL95 Lightning Charge IPhone Review

My second and last iHome product died within 6 months. Expensive cheap junk. The snooze button is tiny and hard to find by touch. The Aux input is not grounded so cannot be used with the Revain Echo Dot for example as it makes a lot of noise. At some point when he died, he lost contact with my phone, then the display on the device started flickering and soon after went out completely. Never buy iHome, they charge extra for defective products.

Bloody mad that Apple is relentlessly changing charging ports, making all my existing peripherals obsolete and forcing me to replace items that aren't as obsolete and are still working. Big. However, iHome makes a pretty snazzy watch/radio/phone charger. We love this clock radio. One of the best features is the ability to completely turn off the display. We had another radio that gave us up and it had that feature. We saw this in a motel room and got the info from the bottom of the radio to order it. It helped me a lot. I see others have had issues but this was a great product. It fits my iPhone 5S and my Otterbox Commuter case. Cracked? I cut off the plugs for the charging jack and earphones from the bottom of the case (yes, that may partially defeat the purpose of this piece of case, but they still don't seal well, often stick out, and don't protect anything if you drop them in a puddle and they are not protected from dust). I can no longer charge my iPhone with a charger using Lightning connection above. The rear USB ports don't charge either. The rear USB ports will not charge my iPhone 6, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPad 2 or other Micro B electronics such as Bluetooth headphones or Galaxy S5. UPDATE 11/16: I am generally happy with the product (read my previous comments which I have attached). But iHome hasn't updated its firmware or smart app (at least iOS) for over three years. With the latest iOS updates, the basic functions of the clock radio no longer work with the smart app activated. You can no longer adjust alarm settings via iDevice (one of the main advantages).
