Huge selection for small investment

Note that these are cheap whetstones and they don't claim to be. For this you get a complete set from 180 grit to 3000 grit. The description implies that there is a difference between the published grit and the US standard. "Particle Size: 180# (120 US Grit); 400# (280 US Grit); 800# (480 US Grit); 1500# (800 US Grit); 2000 grit is comparable to a grit of sandpaper: the lower the number, the coarser the cut.” This can be a big deal for sharpening enthusiasts, but it doesn't matter to the…

Excellent stones. :) on Power & Hand Tools

I used them specifically to resharpen some used reamers and got instructions from Brownells on google.com and sharpened my reamers 120 grit then 180, 220. 240, 320, 400 , 600, 800 and 1000 for a nice smooth sharp edge. A great way to save money on used reamers is to regrind them yourself and you're good to go again. To top it off, if you really want to polish that edge very finely on the reamer, finish it off with 3000 grit sandpaper after gradually progressing from a lower grit to a higher…

Now I have scary sharp knives

When I received these stones they were double bagged and wrapped in bubble wrap and again in thick foam rubber. I assume they read the reviews about the broken parts and fixed them. First you'd better mark them on the back because the sand seal is the first thing you will lose. Second, you must use them on the sharpener. Using these small stones free hand is nearly impossible. Only use the 180 stone once on each blade just to set a new angle, any other use will only complicate your work. As the
