Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent stones. :) on Power & Hand Tools

I used them specifically to resharpen some used reamers and got instructions from Brownells on google.com and sharpened my reamers 120 grit then 180, 220. 240, 320, 400 , 600, 800 and 1000 for a nice smooth sharp edge. A great way to save money on used reamers is to regrind them yourself and you're good to go again. To top it off, if you really want to polish that edge very finely on the reamer, finish it off with 3000 grit sandpaper after gradually progressing from a lower grit to a higher grit. I used a 1911 stone grinder, attached it to a workbench, and smeared sharpening oil from the Ace Hardware Store onto the stone. From there on a 6 side reamer I sanded with 15 edge strokes on all 6 sides and then moved on to the next stone until I was down to 1000 grit. A very time consuming process when you are making a series of reamers but the Worth savings over buying new sweeps. Just follow Brownells instructions on how to properly sharpen a reamer and you're good to go. Wonderful Indian stones and they do the job. :)
