phew! Extra SSD, new storage

Well, it doesn't get any easier than that. I happen to have a fairly new SSD left over from my sweetheart's broken laptop. Throw away the laptop and keep the SSD. I bought this case, it arrived the next day and I loaded the SSD over lunch while sitting at my desk (I made a gorgeous pastrami on jalapeno bun, cheese and miraculous whip and butter salad, yummy) . Plugged it in, opened Windows 10's Disk Management and formatted all the old data, and I rocked until I finished my little gorgonzola…

Like it as long as it works well

I've researched so many HHD cases that I didn't want to buy any of them. So many problems for such a simple device, I can't believe it. HOW: Holes on the bottom for air access, I can add a few to the SIDING TOP. I also installed a broken old 500wd drive and this unit reported that the drive had problems and asked to verify the checksum. My old drive is noisy again now, but REPLACE SSD works for this old drive. I've only used it twice and so far I love it. These manufacturers are required to…

Keeps disconnecting - bad cable

My device is defective and I'm pretty sure it's the USB cable. USB works fine one way but keeps disconnecting when connectors are swapped. This SSD enclosure is much faster than my other one. I will leave this negative feedback until customer service contacts me. Don't let this rating put you off. This is the best chipset for USB 3.0 enclosures. Hopefully when I get a new device the cable will work. If not, I'll just replace it with a quality cable. The cable is of better quality. Edit…

ASM1153e chipset and hibernation are the plus points

I bought this drive case to replace another Inateck USB3 that I was using to store an external SSD boot drive for my Mac Mini. Both drives have an ASM1153e chipset, which I think is a plus, but this new one has a sleep feature that the other didn't have. The other continued to show disk activity while the computer was hibernating while it was sleeping normally. The case on this drive is also stronger, stiffer, and feels more durable than other all-plastic cases I've used. The parts fit…

As bad as it gets!

It's hard to imagine that a product like this could have so many design flaws and still sell! Here are some design flaws: Your drive mechanism is upside down. No mounting screws are used, so your drive is held in place only by the fragile SATA connector, leaving enough room inside the case for your drive to tip over and destroy itself and the SATA connector. Thick, cheap plastic CANNOT radiate heat, so your drive can quickly overheat and fail prematurely. The activity LED is so dim you won't be

USB + Panda WiFi conflict: NUC7 Ubuntu 18LTS UPDATED 3 times and done

Update #3 - still deleting my WiFi adapter. on the internet, they made a year-long decision to blacklist, among other things, this device; Looking at the syslog, I verified that the blacklist is working, but the problem persists in the 5.0 low-latency kernel. DNS not working when surfing the web with HDD Enclosure enabled; The page loads when I turn it off with the button. It is finished. I'll be less obsessed with max disk speed and find one with a chipset that runs Linux. When I hear reports…
