This is one of Revain's little hidden gems in my opinion. I needed a card with a front USB 3.0 port as my newly built motherboard didn't have one. I could simply leave the front USB 3.0 port without a function, but that bothered me. I searched Revain for a USB 3.0 card and found many of them. only one problem They all needed food. I've already secured my build and all unused power connectors are neatly zipped and tucked away behind the case. I really didn't feel like quitting my hands-on job…

Helped me bring a dinosaur to life.

In May, decided to revitalize an unused 8-9 year old Compaq Presario desktop PC by booting Linux Mint, replacing the broken front USB ports, and installing this PCI-E USB Express card. The price, the internal USB slot that allowed me to fix/upgrade the two front USB slots, the two rear external slots, and the fact that I didn't want to mess with another internal power cable were all my reasons for this choice card. The installation of the PCI-E card went smoothly and all slots worked. Just…

Fresco Logic chipset - Works with Server 2012 (Inateck KT4006)

RE: Inateck KT4006. This card uses the Fresco Logic FL1100SX chipset. This is one of the latest USB 3.0 chipsets and is very reliable. My USB bus-powered external hard drive booted with no problems. Drivers are built into Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 (as well as Windows PE 5.0). However, the Fresco Logic website supports newer drivers. I've tested these newer drivers with Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 with no issues. If you have Server 2012 and need a USB 3.0 card to power your USB 3.0…

Dangerous board almost caught fire

In 30 years of building computers, this is the first time for me. Approximately 12 hours after installing this board in a computer built on top of this Inateck USB 3.0 board, a capacitor caught fire and exploded, causing smoke and ash to pour into the case. Talk about revelation! Thank goodness I was there to hear and smell the explosion so I could turn off the power to everything. It's scary to imagine what would have happened if I hadn't been there. I strongly recommend that you look…

Inateck support - five stars!

Plug and play! I didn't even need a driver CD for Windows 10. I plugged an external hard drive into each of the two ports and the drives booted cleanly with no issues. I would like to say a few words about Inateck's support service. . I originally bought a 4 port; Card with a mandatory connection to the computer power supply. I couldn't get it to work. After several weeks of talking to support, I discovered that the problem wasn't with the card, but with my computer's power connector: it wasn't

Works great in Dell R610 Server Plug-n-Play NO on ESXI 6.5

I have a pair of Dell R610 and getting remote backups on USB 2 (whatever there is) limits the transfer to 30MB/s The R610 has no additional outputs on the back, so an additional USB 3.0 card was required, which required additional performance beyond the performance of the PCI e slot (max. 75W). Hardware. Good that all fears have been dispelled. I hooked it up to an R610 (no tools), closed the case, booted up 2012 HV and it auto-configures. It comes with drivers on the hard drive, but I don't…

Great card for Windows or Mac OS

I have no reason not to give this card 5 stars. I have a multiboot hackintosh that boots on Windows XP, Windows 7 and Mac OS 10.11.6. I managed to recognize this card among all. For Mac OS, the card was automatically recognized but showed USB 2.0 speed until I installed GenericUSBXHCI.kext. I use this card in combination with the internal card reader Rosewill RDCR-11003. It plugs directly into a USB 3.0 card, giving me a USB 3.0 port on the front. Unlike previous generation USB 3.0 cards, this…
