While this device is beautiful and made of metal, it does not offer SSD-to-metal thermal conductivity. It comes with a thermal pad that only acts as an insulator for the drive as the thermal pad does not come in contact with metal. This is a huge problem. During large/long data transfers, the drive heats up, the thermal pad heats up and cannot transfer this heat to the metal case.

Works great, installation of ssd is very simple, however, there is a silicone strip in the case to transfer heat to the case, but it does not fit the case and is therefore not very useful. Even if you are using a high-speed m.2 like the WD Black series, you should consider buying a case with a fan as this case gets very hot without ventilation.

This is a solid case. Of course, I've only used it for NVMe drive cloning and other relatively short-term tasks. I don't see why this can't be a good long-term enclosure if you really need to store an NVMe drive in a USB adapter.

I needed a way to access some bare M.2 SSDs. Mostly I have NVMe, but I also have SATA.
