Used to protect absorbent material on the underside of a race car from a 120VAC oil pan heater. The gasket warped a bit (didn't melt) but that's to be expected when in direct contact with this high temperature for an hour. It does its job of protecting the absorbent mat and carbon fiber.

I USE A GLASS FLOWER STRIP TO STRAIGHTEN THE GLASS ON THE END OF A BLOWTUBE THAT REPLACES $75 ABOUT EVERY 2 HOURS OF USE. AFTER VIEWING THE REPLACEMENT PADS, THESE FELT PADS WILL WORK AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL AIR BLOWER PADS. THE TEMPERATURE AT THESE SEALS EXCEEDS 2000 DEG F. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I do NOT recommend this product and will not buy again. I was able to use it to protect wood frames and cabinets next to my propane torch soldering. BUT after the second use it started falling apart. I was able to use it 2 more times by doubling it up. After 4 uses it is full of large holes, fell apart and is now unusable.

Excellent product. Whether you're using it as a heat shield when sweating copper pipes, or using it on an alcohol camping stove project. This is the product you need. It has a fairly dense weave and excellent quality for the money. I make different variations of camping spirit lamps. This works great as a fuel wick or as a wick coil for an open burner. Decent price too.

Not much to say about this seal, it works. Most prospective buyers already know that it's designed for use with a soldering torch in hard-to-reach places. The last thing you want to do is scorch or burn the wall behind the pipe, or whatever you can solder. The pad can also be used for other purposes including holding the flame of things that might burn. Your results may vary depending on what you know and how you use it.
