How cold - INSIDE?!?!

The gun is lightweight and very easy to use. I don't have anything to measure accuracy, so let's assume it does. NYC life has heat requirements and I use them to see if the homeowner is actually providing enough heat. This was the third pistol I ordered and the only one I kept. .

Works great at close range, not bad at distance

I like this thermometer because it works well for its intended purpose. You get a thermometer, a 9 volt battery, and a carrying case that fits neatly into the package. The battery is easy to insert and measuring is easy as all you have to do is pull the trigger and aim at your target. The device has a laser target that helps you identify what you're reading and appears to be fairly accurate. I used it in heating my 3D printer bed and it matched my printer heater thermistor reading. The further…

Works well for the price

Having never used an infrared thermometer I wasn't quite sure how accurate it would be compared to a much more expensive device. As far as I can tell so far, it's running stable. I can't vouch for the accuracy 100%. I will have to do more tests. In terms of build quality, the biggest complaint I have is the grip/battery compartment. The handle is where you put the battery. It is held together only by friction. You're expecting a screw, or at least a remote-like clasp that requires you to lift…

Useful - just not for frying or smoking

This is a nice little gadget once you know its limitations. As far as determining the surface temperature of something, it's pretty accurate and easy to use. When I want to reverse sear a steak I've cooked over low heat and make sure my cast iron skillet is completely done, it works great. However, if you want to buy it for smoking or grilling outdoors, there are a few things you need to consider first. Labnique does not market it as a grill. But that hasn't stopped other brands from marketing…
