The right product for parts and components

I'm surprised it turned out to be so fragile. Now I know why the original broke. The installation didn't cause any problems. It was exactly the replacement we needed. Easy ordering and fast delivery.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Zero

Fits my Walmart bike

I bought a bike from Walmart and the derailleur broke. I didn't want to throw the bike away and that saved the bike. I will probably be able to use my bike for another 6-8 months.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Contact seller

Perfect for a bike that's gone haywire!

My wife's bike obviously had enough of that uphill shift and quickly broke the shifter in half. This new part lends itself well to great performance and with a little tweaking the shifting will be as good as new. The only problem is the pronunciation. I should buy you a new derailier.derailillillerer.deraililleuerrred.shifter thing!

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I'll add later

Works but poor fit of parts and components

Not everything is safe. The adjusters are at the wrong angle in the case and therefore difficult to reach and the advertised range says 7 gears but they barely reach the last gear when the chain is in the optimal position for it. So it works and looks like it'll last more or less, but it feels pretty cheap and probably easy to brake in the event of a crash.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Upgrades available

There was little money, so I built my own bike.

I have an old Schwin Sidewinder that I just restored. New switches and cables were required. I removed the derailleurs from another Schwin bike that I didn't use but they didn't fit. I purchased this switch which was shockingly identical to the original. In combination with the new Shimano gear cassette, I find the bike tours like new. As far as I know I will never buy a new bike if I have quality parts at great prices.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Can't remember

Shit Piece for Switch

This was incredibly difficult to install. The fixed bracket that attaches to the bike had to be adjusted to get the bike indexed on the sprocket and it was very difficult to get all the gears in place. The springs in the derailleur or not strong enough 2 will cause the trailer to go back into low gears so it will shift normally and when you come back and downshift it will hang in that gear because the spring isn't pulling it down to the next sprocket. I would suggest buying a different switch…

Broke after 3 short rides

Installed to replace the original which was bent after the bike fell. Daughter came home today after riding her bike next door and said her pedals weren't moving. The plastic housing at the top and bottom of the pivot that holds tension on the sprocket housing is broken. This pulled the derailleur out of the way and blocked the chain's movement. Couldn't even last 2 miles. Even the original cheap Walmart Switch was badly damaged after being bent and never fell apart. I'm not sure if this is a…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Good but not great

You pay for what you get

The product itself is not the best but could be worse. To hold the derailleur when you reinstall the rear tire and the pulley bolts are either too tight or too loose and you get stuck between a stuck paddle or possibly lose it mid-ride. My suggestion is to salvage all the parts for the old switch, like the screws, and use them for the new one. Also, KEEP EVERYTHING GREASED or you will severely shorten the life of your new derailleur. After installation it works perfectly. I'm in my third week…
