Junk purchase - sensors

This is an absolute POS The fact that the manufacturer cannot supply the right spacers makes this nonsense. At the moment I'm struggling with the fact that I ground the washer, but the thread went far into the cork, past the threaded part of the radiator, and now I can't pull it out and have to cut the exhaust. Innovate must take the time to review reviews and redesign or provide seals. Otherwise it's not worth the headache.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not as good as it promises

Installation nightmare

The installation was a nightmare for me. I bought it with a pack of washers because I knew it had to be screwed straight into the exhaust stream to work properly. It took me many hours to hand sand the washers and try to get the exact thickness I needed. Some washers were not flat enough or had too much material removed from them. I ended up with half a dozen of these discarded pucks under my car, which mixed and matched until I had just the right combination. Innovate Motorsports could greatly

Works well, installation is difficult

Manufactured with high quality. A few installation tips. If your connector is welded so that the point is close, try annealing the washer. Heat until it turns cherry red, then plunge into cold water. This will make the washer "soft as hell" and allow you to back out a little more from the extension. If the extension is far off, say 180 degrees or more, if you have access to a bench grinder, grind it to half its thickness, then anneal. Also, a scam panel that gives you more leverage can help you

Working but best in spares

My exhaust temp was above the O2 sensor under heavy load so I decided to buy this cooler. The product has a hole in the side of the cylinder that leads to the exhaust. When installing, this hole must face the outlet. There is a mark on the "mother” for this. The problem is this: what to do if the index mark is misaligned after installation? No spacers are provided to achieve proper alignment. A thick brass washer is included. Forget metric washers at your local hardware store. I ordered…

Ideal for RX-7 and other high temp/turbo engines

I had two of these on the same 1993 RX-7, with different downpipes and turbo configurations. Both times I've been successful in saving my broadband O2 sensor from frying. On my second downpipe and new TD06 (23rd August 2012) I had a plug welded on about 2ft down and I no longer have a catalytic converter but still managed to get a horrible E-8 on my AFR sensor after a few days receive . This solved the problem again and this time I did not purchase or replace multiple broadband O2 sensors prior

Pros
  • Not only useful for intended purpose
Cons
  • Faulty
