Great little hub for computers and accessories

I have 2 of these and love them. With laptops now having fewer ports, you really need one of these. This way you can have your wireless mouse and headsets. Your additional plug-ins that are USB etc. This is small and easy to store away. This is fantastic.

2 foot long cable and huge wall wart, Wonky Micro-B M/M plugs

WHY did you put such a short cable to plug this thing in and insult it and to hurt if you approach it with a wall wart that you can't connect to anything in an extension cord. And to top it off, you're going to plug into this stupid dual m/m USB 3 micro-B jack, so even if you can plug this thing in, it's going to end up in a hard-to-reach place and shut itself down because of your incredibly ridiculous choices at connections. How many times a week does my fat 43 year old, holed-out sports and…

Pros
  • High score for tester support and durability

Doesn't recognize external hard drives

doesn't recognize external hard drives at all, everything else works fine, let's say for example when I plug in my GoFlex drive or my phone nothing shows up. My GoFlex is USB 3.0 and should show up. It was my birthday present to me last January and from other people who have it I can see they are having similar problems.

Great bang for the buck.

I purchased from Best Buy. He worked for more than two years, and in the end he didn't suit me. Lasted longer than I expected for the price. If you want something that will last longer, check out the $100-$500 brand. I let my stream run through this single hub. Here is my scheme. Hub < Elgato HD60s < 8TB Hard Drive < Logi Cam < Razer Mouse. The mouse and camera still work with it, but the capture device and hard drive are no longer recognized on my Mac.

Insignia 3.0 USB: Hubs

Good choice, works well and doesn't require a power adapter; works by plugging it into one of my USB 3.0 ports on the front of my computer. Gives me 4 extra ports in total and I don't have to strain my back to access the ports under my desk. The Insignia 4-port hub is now on the desk next to the monitor so I can charge my phone and connect any necessary USB hardware. more important is speed which i like compared to speed 2.0. Ideal for backing up large files like media files 100GB each, no more

Pros
  • Complete Kit
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

MALFUNCTION. $$$ LOSS

Insignia has had 3 external hard drives connected for over a year. At least one disk has been temporarily taken offline. I thought my Seagate x hard drive was defective. When I moved my computer, I reconnected all USB ports and all drives worked fine. I pack the Insignia in my luggage so I can use it when I travel. On my first ride, I connected my iPhone to the Insignia but it wouldn't charge.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Empty
