The curve makes scooping a little difficult, but it's such an attractive little tray I don't mind having it in my bedroom. My girl was homeless before we adopted her and she took to the box straight away and the low step in made it easy for her right after neutering. This box is small and doesn't take up much space, but it holds a surprising amount of junk.

If you are not buying this for a kitten and plan on replacing it within three months, don't worry. It is very small and uncomfortable for adult cats. The length of the ideal tray should be 1.5 times the length of the cat (excluding the tail). It was maybe 0.75 my cats. I bought two: I sent back the one I didn't use, I threw away the one I used. Save money and buy something that won't make you flinch in front of the litter box.

I love the overall shape of this tray so much that I want to buy a second one to replace my other one. The black has a very low profile and the egg shape looks a lot better than the typical rectangle. It's a bit small for a big cat but all my adults are small so it's not a problem for me. I use toilet liners and the screen should allow me to install them easily. Definitely a good open box for those who can't use a hooded box but don't have space to stash an ugly tray.

Unfortunately I received an item that is obviously defective. The cover does not match the bedding. The plastic shell seems warped enough not to snap and stay in place. I had to use tape to attach the top to the main bedding. I'm too lazy to send it back and a new tray was badly needed.
