I needed a small bookshelf for the kids room. I didn't want anything too big or bulky for their small but growing book collection. This is exactly what I needed, perfect size, height and quality is good for the price. Since it's in the kids room I added extra security, wall mounted it and added corner railings and piping on the edges because they are sharp. It's perfect and she loves the fact that she can get her books herself.

I understand we didn't purchase a first class product but if I receive a damaged product I assume I can return it. Every corner of the product and box was so chipped, scratched and/or dented that I snapped a picture of the box before even opening it. When I tried to return an item that was damaged, I received the message "This item cannot be returned". Do not purchase this product if you intend to place it where it will be visible.

I was shocked when I received this, I've bought many chipboard shelves in the past and it's MUCH THE BEST I'VE SEEN. The shelf is made up of normal parts, but you actually use long screws to assemble it. It also comes with 3 boards made of chipboard, NO cardboard, to support the shelves. This is the simplest 2-shelf bookcase I've ever used (and I've used a lot over the years). Directions are sparse, but as long as you don't get lost walking into the house from the garage, you shouldn't have any problems with this device. All parts were present (note the two shelf version does not come with a wall anchor and is not required) and the screw holes matched perfectly.
