This is a sturdy shelf that for the most part looks like what's seen in the Walmart product photos. However, some of the photos seem to show thicker vertical black metal posts than on the frame I received. Also, some of the decorative 'X' style metal bookends can be pushed to bow inward or outward. While these aren't super thin, I wish they were a little thicker so that would not happen.

I'm replacing all the old particle board walmart shelves in my apartment with nicer looking furniture. This was the last item I needed to get all of those out of the apartment and I love the look. Its sitting in front of a mirror wall so the openness of it makes it look like its breaking up two different rooms. We love this bookshelf! We wanted a big one to be a staple piece in our living room but it was quite difficult to find a big enough one that was affordable. We found this one and it was perfect! It is great quality, was simple enough to assemble (need two people for sure), and is beautiful in our living room. This bookshelf is a great value for the price! We had some trouble with the shipping carrier but the seller was very responsive and helpful.

I bought this piece when looking for a large open bookcase that could double as a plant stand. This does the job! It is fashionable (in my opinion) and fits in well with our decor. It works very well as a plant stand with the open back which allows for sun to come through! Not terribly difficult to put together either, though it is quite heavy so you will need help to move it into the house when delivered. Recommended!

All you need to assemble this thing is an Allen wrench, sounds nice until you find your hand constantly hitting the beams or the smaller supports in between them, with only 15 degrees of movement and like 60 screws to put in, it's a hassle. Do yourself a huge favor and use a ratchet with an Allen wrench attachment. Otherwise they are good shelves, look great, I put a bunch of heavy books and other things on them and it doesn't budge, not even bolted to the wall either

We have this bookshelf up as a thinner, more modern china cabinet adjacent accent for our dining room. We added some cheap LED strip lights to the back of the shelves and it’s absolutely stunning. I was initially disappointed because the shelves are just a laminate (and not especially nicely done), but once it was up, everything looked good. The metal frame is solid and seems well make. The shelves, despite my misgivings, look good in place and filled with books.I wish I knew going in what the shelves we made of (though I suppose I should have guessed), but ultimately I was happy with the purchase.

The directions were not super clear…pictures only. I had to disassemble the columns because I didn’t catch the small differences and the hole placements, even though they are labeled the same. Can be a tad confusing. If on carpet, definitely need to use wall anchor. It’s a lot easier to assemble if you can stretch everything out on the floor in an open area. Very easy to assemble. If I had the space on the floor, I would've assembled it laying down like the instructions said to. But assembly standing up was still very easy. Would definitely recommend.

It’s a great piece. There was a screw on each shelf that didn’t thread in, but 5/6screws did. So we are not concerned about it.
