I couldn't have driven without it!

Excellent quality! It lifts my 16lb clam style anchor with ease! Good quality ball, rope too, stainless steel ring with carabiner. It's also important that the carabiner is a good size, and this one is.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Nothing

Cannot be inflated for boating and sailing

I just bought this. This size fits my needs but does not come with an inflation valve. Pushing it down will let all the air out while you try to screw the connector back in. There are no inflation instructions. Look for another make/model with this valve.

Pros
  • Sample for one year
Cons
  • Was damaged

Finally I can use the stuff. The anchor is stuck.

Finally used this thing. The anchor stuck and did not float. I attached this thing to a rope and put it in reverse and after a few seconds of sinking the anchor was up. Once I removed the anchor, the tree root was attached to it, so it does what it's supposed to.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Doubt

Makes anchoring easier

Easy to use. This makes it a lot less work to get the anchor up from the bottom and deeper water than it is to pull it all out by hand. It would be nice if a long inflation needle was included. Using a standard sized needle (e.g. the size of a football, soccer ball, etc.) and a hand inflator will not work on an anchor ball.

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Didn't work reliably for me

I have a Manson 25 anchor on a 29ft sailboat. This system worked for me half the time. He released the anchor several times, but did not bring the buoy to the anchor, making the ascent difficult. On other occasions, even when the sailboat reached 6 mph and followed directions, he would not drop anchor. The bow twitched or the anchor dropped.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Requires socket

More than just an anchor puller!

I bought this for alternative use. I use it to keep the water pump inlet from falling in weeds and debris. There were no instructions on how to inflate the buoy (supplied uninflated) but I found the inlet. My 12 volt air pump had a fitting that plugged into the buoy. It would be helpful if the buoy came with inflation instructions and an appropriate inflation device.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
