I've seen a better kid's toy clip than this

This must be some kind of joke. I've seen a toy clip for kids made better than this one. How is this "clip"? NOTHING HOLDS! NO PRESSURE TO HOLD ANYTHING! It should be in the toys department, not the tools department.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Not for use with the Kreg tool

This clip was recommended on the site where I purchased the Kreg pocket hole tool. It doesn't work for this purpose; The gripping force is insufficient to keep the device stationary. It might be fine for a little bonding work, but recommending it for use with Kreg is wishful thinking.

Junk is best in C clamps

For a so called clamp it doesn't have much clamping force. You can see how much worse this is compared to the standard vise grip mechanism and it shows. Whatever I tried to clamp, it moved with the slightest pressure. I returned it immediately and purchased the IRWIN VISE-GRIP Original Locking C-Clamp with Swivel Pads, 11", 20. EXCELLENT quality.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Quality control gives "shell " this terminal!

The photos show that this product has serious problems. The tips are misaligned and the handles are misaligned whether the clamp is open or closed. I bought a similar clamp from Milwaukee and it showed the same problems. Obviously they need better quality control. I like the idea but NOT THIS execution. Don't waste money.

Not a complete failure, but pretty close.

They've gotten so cheap it's hard to call them Irwin. They used to be known for quality goods but now they are rubbish. Maybe use them for modeling airplanes or other very light projects, gluing etc, but they are not designed to hold serious stuff. Yellow things are simply removed and run under the cabinets. The ratchet system and flexibility/short handles just don't work.

Pros
  • The best in their niche
Cons
  • A little torn

Clip does not hold well

Bought two. After a short period of use over the next two to three weeks, one of them broke. The yellow pad is deformed and does not stick to the clips. I do not recommend it to anyone. Also, it took 12 days for customer service to respond to my email. They then said it would take them about eight weeks to decide whether or not to replace the faulty tool. I personally would not want to buy this model again. I think it's trouble.

freight. ") both yellow legs fell off both clamps and every time I released the clamps. They are made with small notches in the body of the clamp and 8 "plastic "pins" in the legs. There is no retainer so the pins pop out of the notches too easily. Owners can fix this by using a power drill to drill holes on either side of the base and at the end of the clamp arm. Put a metal pin through everything and use cotter pins to secure the metal pin. The problem is that the cost of parts can be more…

Difficult to increase grip strength

I have another similar set and wanted to increase the number of hand clamps but was more disappointed than satisfied with these. The biggest problem is that it's difficult to apply enough force to make them "click" and maintain that force. I use them for gluing and I want them to hold with good strength, but it's very difficult to transmit that force to the clamps. With my previous hand clamps, they are much more comfortable to use and transmit significant forces much easier. They were half the

Worse Than Useless Good for Hand Tools

If I could give less than 1 star I would. This item is absolutely useless for anything. I have several other Irwin tools and they all work and I was surprised that most people barely get 1. Note that they weren't kidding. I didn't want it to tightly attach two items together, although it's useless for that, all I wanted was to hold the part that is screwed to the other part while I removed and replaced the screws one at a time. The jerk is a joke. Even if you use Superman's power, he just won't
