Works perfectly. Completely satisfied.

I have been using this drill for about six months while building a retaining wall for a garden beautification project. and use this drill to make pilot holes for the rebar spikes. Diameter 9/16 is the ideal hole size for rebar. It's long enough for me to drill 3 logs. I haven't used it to go through metal (nails or anything). After hundreds of holes it still works like new.

For 1/2 " screws. Bridge building. Perfect!

I'm just tired of fighting over 1/2" screws with a 1/2" marine drill. Apparently I had to always thresh through the bolts also with a new chisel. This 9/16" diameter ship's drill bit fits 1/2" bolts. A 46 foot bridge that was damaged last winter is currently being restored and this drill bit is a life saver. up to 3 plies of pressure treated DF up to a total thickness of 10 1/2". Pretty amazing. highly recommended. I also recommend the Perfect Companion tool with these wood bits. The North Mole

I'm not an expert at drilling large pieces of wood, but with a regular drill you can drive it into the wood and then pull back hard to push the shavings out of the hole. Hole to reduce friction and drill bit movement. As previously mentioned, once it "bites" it will retreat into the hole until your drill bit gets stuck or you stop, turn around, pull back, and then start moving forward again. wood for me, and although I achieved my goal, I felt like it took longer than it behaves like a regular…
