🔧 Irwin Vise-Grip Pliers Set - 8-Piece Kit with Case (Model 2078714) Review

I needed a pair of mini pliers as my legs were growing and declining. They work great. Many sets only have 5 tongs, this one has 8.

love these tools. I bought them for jewelry making and the only small problem I have is that the tools have small ridges inside that can be transferred to wire or bridge rings. But there is a simple solution. Simply cover the ribs with painter's or painter's tape and the ribs will not transfer to the wire or jumper rings.

Poor quality even compared to cheap pliers from other brands. The picture shows the metal curving around the dryer vent hose wire instead of cutting it. I ended up using kitchen scissors to cut the wire which they couldn't. Pros: They match better Irwin tools. Cons: weak metal. Rusts easily. The housing does not lock the pliers.

These are half size small tools. They work great and I love Irwin tools but be aware these are not full size pliers. I was looking for a smaller set of thinner work tools and they were perfect for all needs. The suitcase is just the icing on the cake, I love tidiness and the small rigid suitcase makes everything so much easier. Definitely worth buying!

The case is fine and that is the main reason I bought it. However, the foam is in two parts and the adhesive between the front and back is not that good and is coming off. The pliers are spring loaded so you can imagine the external pressure on this adhesive. The worst spot is at the bottom of the pliers on the top row on the outside. Basically these are the 3 and 9 o'clock positions when open.

As a plumber, you work as fast as your tools will allow. With this smaller set of pliers/cutters, I can get my wiring and networking jobs done much faster than before. I'm always cutting or pulling cables and this kit helps me with that. The handles are nice and soft and appear to be made of very durable metal. The cover feels comfortable as it allows you to keep things tidy.

I use these in the household and for my hobbies and have never been so satisfied with pliers. I've mainly used Craftsman in the past but have tried a few kits due to their inferior metal bending/breaking quality. I broke down and paid extra for this set and I don't regret it for a second. My only claim to the case; The pliers don't go into the foam like they should and the seams on the outside are crooked and wavy.
