Perfect crimp - very easy to use

I've tried others and had to return them all. In a vain attempt to save less than $10, I bought pliers with fancy packaging and fake reviews. This is my FIRST and SECOND attempt - absolutely perfect as you can see. They used 16 AWG wire. The top photo is of the coil and the bottom photo is of a loose or single connector (both Molex .093). This tool crimps both sides of the connector at the same time - the wire crimp and the wire jacket (plastic). Much easier than using multiple tools with…

Well made, ideal for longer contacts but NOT for JST XH contacts

A very well made crimping tool but it is NOT designed for use with JST XH contacts which is the main reason I ordered. . JST pins are older series with longer ferrules. The jaws of the tool are approximately 7mm thick and split in two stages are 3.5mm thick. The idea is that a narrower step will securely crimp the bare wire while a wider step will crimp the insulation. However, JST-XH pins only have a maximum crimp length of 2.5mm for bare wires, so this tool can damage either the mating area…

Great quality, works great!

I don't usually write reviews and even less often post product videos, but these crimps are awesome. I have purchased the SN-01BM and I can tell you that the quality is excellent, the materials are first class, the jaw workmanship is first class, the ratchet is well built and looks very solid. My first JST connection using 24 AWG wire was perfectly crimped in seconds. I had to gently squeeze the 2 tabs on the JST connector to fit it in the jaws and then I was able to squeeze the handle until…

a bit of history here

of all my worldly possessions, this is my favorite. if death takes me in my sleep tonight, i will bequeath this crimping tool to my firstborn, but only if i'm willing to take care of my 17-year-old cat, Witherspoon. He's a little cranky these days, but he's still a great cat, especially when given tuna as a reward. Please don't give him too many treats and he doesn't need senior food, just close supervision. I remember when we brought Witherspoon home from the cat shelter. he cried, scratched…

Good single run full cycle open barrel crimping machines

I bought this for open barrel contacts specifically Futaba servo contacts and Molex C-Grid SL contacts. These Molex pins are good for connectors on boards like Arduino. This crimping tool replaces my pressed steel crimping shears. My old crimping tool is not easy to use because misalignment is easy and destructive, and crimping insulation and crimping wires are two separate operations. These are more like standard factory crimping machines that crimp in one operation. You also have a full cycle

Excellent crimping tool for DuPont contacts.

I bought this because I have an Arduino project and needed to crimp some DuPont connectors (very small). Having worked in the automotive industry for several years, I was used to swaging tools that cost over $150, so I was skeptical about the performance at a very low price. I quickly received my crimping tools from Revain and started wiring for my project. Luckily, the curves created by this tool were as good as anything I've seen. I attribute this to the attention to detail in the…

Needs instructions but works great when done right.

Wish they came with instructions - it took me a while to figure out how to do this properly for JST connectors. Basically, the trick to doing this is to break off a connector by bending it back and forth. Now, using needle-nose pliers, hold the connector by the side of the connector and gently squeeze the V-tabs until they fit into the groove on the top jaw of the crimping tool. There is a small tab on the underside of the connector that acts as a latch for the plastic connector. This notch…

Must have a small crimping tool for electronics connectors

I have the SN-2549 model (and HSC8 6-6 crimp shackles). There is a video guide above, which must be watched at maximum volume (!), as well as videos on "YouTube". I would look at them before using them for the first time. All of these crimping pliers have two insulation and conductor crimping depths (*MAGIC*) at the same time. The IWISS site isn't that good, but their CrimpingTools site at com dots is a bit better anyway as far as information goes (ignore the prices there, they only ship FedEx…

Using the IWISS Ratchet Tool

This tool works well but I'm deducting a star because inexplicably the manufacturer doesn't provide instructions on how to use it. No, it's unintuitive, at least for me or apparently for many other reviewers who broke many connectors when figuring out how it works. By the way, I am an experienced electrical engineer and master builder. I've only used this tool (so far) with 18 gauge and 22 gauge wire and Molex type 2062103 and 2061103 connectors. I hope the following instructions are helpful…
