The threads are correct but rust free, not aluminum

. Which is good, I've actually used it to plug in a custom O2 sensor connector, so stainless steel is the best material. It didn't require a magnet, but I couldn't get it out with reasonable force, so I'd definitely trust it in my oil pan.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Some difficulties

First, it's stainless steel, not aluminum

Listed as aluminum, although actually it's stainless steel, which is a bonus. They only hurt themselves by calling it aluminum. Processing and quality are excellent. Very happy. The magnet is epoxy filled in the hole - I'll update if that fails due to heat and oil.

Pros
  • Practical thing
Cons
  • Out of style

Spark plug is new but still leaking.

Ordered a drain plug, arrived on time. I changed the oil, although it wasn't necessary, just put in a new drain plug with a magnet. Once everything was in place I booted the 325i up for a few seconds and bam you can see the new oil on the drain plug. Stop the engine, wipe the oil off the drain plug/oil pan. I waited about 5 minutes and you can see the oil coming out. I tightened the screw a bit more and still the same problem. Maybe I'll just put in some Teflon to temporarily stop the leak…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Weight
