WOW! difference between day and night. Think about it. 20 year old speakers vs. new JBL 3 choices. If you have a Miata and your door speakers have not been replaced. Make this purchase and smile. It takes about 20 minutes for one door. HUGE difference! I can actually hear my music clearly at 70 mph (70 mph).

I thought I needed a subwoofer when I was done but these speakers deliver a lot of bass for my liking. Very good sound and perfect fit in the front door speaker housing of a 2006 Scion TC. Someone posted a nice video on YouTube showing how to cut out the old speakers and leave the original plastic case that fits the speakers.

The speakers are good but if the post says these are ONLY speakers (and NO grilles) then I missed it. I have NEVER bought, expected and used grilleless car speakers. Not sure if I can get my old other brand grills to work or not. but they go in recesses under the dash in my SUV and MUST have guards.

Easily fits in the Miata 94 door and climbs behind the stock door panel without touching it. The holes don't match the factory holes so I used sheet metal screws. Great sound so far compared to 6 month old 5.25" JVC speakers I took out and no hum or rattle. Impressed with the sound quality and volume for the price. No external amplifier, just a 6 month old single din JVC head unit.

I bought 2 pairs of these speakers to replace worn speakers in my 2005 Volvo S40. It was a bit of a hassle to install due to the weird existing brackets in the Volvo, but I found a YouTube video that does a good job of showing how to do it. The sound immediately improved a lot and they got better after I played them in (I listened to classical music quite loud for several hours. Classical music is best for speaker grinding because of the wide frequency range, including deep bass).

. I bought these to replace the door speakers on a '89 Ford F150 that had a dead audio system. Everything I read about speaker size said 6.5 inches was the correct speaker size, but they were way too big. I made a spacer and installed them without cutting the door. I think these are great speakers if you have tighter bass they can be a great addition and combination. The strength is that they have mids and highs and a defined midrange which can be a great addition to your system and I think they sound pretty good for the price.
