Worked well in my 1994 Ford Explorer XLT.

. It took some minor modifications to accommodate the larger magnet on this subwoofer, but it fit together well and worked great as a replacement for an older unit. I was concerned about the power required to run this factory-boosted subwoofer, but it turned out not to be an issue when I powered up the system. I sold the Explorer anyway so I just wanted it to sound good and claim the factory features are still there and working fine. I love this sub. If I need an 8" subwoofer I would buy it…

this babe is amazing!

This little guy's excursion and bend are crazy! I'm not exaggerating when I say it curves over 3 inches! I squeeze it really hard too! it definitely can hit, that's for sure! I have a 2003 Impala with a 12" DD at 1400 rms, a 10" Small Pioneer at 300 rms and this 8" JBL Baby that I push at 300 rms all day with no problems! I usually rev my 12- Inch subwoofer all the way down for normal listening and crank the other two subwoofers all the way up for a really nice bass sound and feel without…

Quality subwoofer subwoofer

The 10" Alphasonik 1200w subwoofer is a solid bass piece. In my situation I replaced the stock subwoofer in my 2013 Audi A4 (because it was torn to pieces). After several modifications the subwoofer stood nicely and imperceptibly in its factory place. This subwoofer not only adds aesthetic appeal to the game, it also finds a way to deliver high-quality, punchy bass throughout the cabin. The trunk of my car is actually the "enclosure". " for the subwoofer and I can only imagine what it can do in a

Great 8 " subwoofer, perfect depth for my Jeep XJ - Pod

I received this product immediately after ordering. with a JBL GTO-501EZ mono car amp connected to the Boss KIT-2 Complete 8 Gauge amplifier kit and it sounds great! fits under my back seat which makes this combo unbeatable for me. The subwoofer thumps a lot more than I expected. It pairs perfectly with the XJ pod and produces a massive sound throughout the jeep. The JBL Amplifier does an excellent job of meeting all the needs that are being asked of this speaker.I just installed it today and…

Unbelievable! for automotive electronics

When I read the reviews, I was skeptical. I know JBL and their quality but this speaker is great! I've done many stereo setups, both professionally and personally, and this subwoofer really impresses. You will be very surprised that this is only an 8 inch subwoofer. I have paired it with a JBL GTO-5EV amp, 4 JBL GTO638 3 way door speakers and I have to say this together with the midrange and amp makes a very HIGH QUALITY combination. The subwoofer is nothing but its reputation that precedes it!

Great sound for Car Audio

I didn't think it could sound as good as it sounds. I bought it as a replacement for the factory subwoofer in the Taurus SHO. I enlarged the hole in the plastic box, installed everything and everything was fine. I thought the speaker had exploded so I took it out and put it in another box and speaker. I found that the edge just needs to be re-glued. I did, put it in a ported box based on the specs and wow what a difference. This is a clean sound with no clipping when properly adjusted. The bass

I want to be 12 when I grow up!

This little 8" subwoofer really wants to be a 12" subwoofer when it's big when it's actually impossible. But that doesn't stop it from doing whatever it takes to deliver performance beyond its measured size. The rating for this small subwoofer was four stars. Although slightly more expensive than many other 8 inch subwoofers, I still expected to pay for a quality replacement. As soon as I unpacked it, I was surprised by its size and weight. It was almost 3-4 times heavier than my previous…

Decent but not outstanding replacement for the standard 2002 Expedition

Modifications for this JBL subwoofer. Be sure to remove the screw on the back of the accessory box that secures the magnet. As mentioned in another review, you need to cut out the recessed part of the subwoofer box (at the back) to accommodate the depth of the new subwoofer. I bought a flat piece of HVAC caulking, 10 screws and a tube of caulk to patch the hole. I rotated the new sub a bit so it could be attached using the new holes. The old ones won't come. I added a 12" jumper cable from the…
