Not Worth the Money

This cable tool is not worth the investment. Electronics and equipment these days are constantly evolving and this product is not keeping pace. Through trial and error, I found that it leaves a jagged cut and can be unreliable. The only pro would be that it is reasonably priced but I would not recommend this tool to anyone looking for a dependable fiber optic slitter.

Pros
  • Easy and precise tool for slitting fiber optic cables.
Cons
  • Requires some experience and training to use correctly.

Save time and mess.

Good product. Saved me a lot of time and cut my fingers preparing fiber optic packs. It's also a lot easier to clean up the mess after you've removed 12 drops from the same container. No small parts of the jacket to track down like you would with just the blade of a hook. Don't worry about damaging the fibers or downspout with this tool, wish I had received it sooner.

Pros
  • FOR CORNING CABLES: Cuts ribbon cables .305" to .350" wide and .155" to .185" high, commonly used in Corning SST drop ribbon cables with jacket thicknesses of .03" to .04". .
Cons
  • Not bad

Excellent goods. on AV Accessories

Jonard fiber optic cables According to my stepson, the company's cable conductor and fiber optic specialist, is the best standard for cable tools. He uses it every day and says it's fast, effective, and long-lasting. He also has a crimping tool and swears by it. So if you are in the market for quality tools of this type, Jonard is a way to get quality at a reasonable price.

Pros
  • AWARD-WINNING DESIGN: Facilitates the quick cutting of .250" (and other) jacketed cables with a flat tap in the middle or at the end and is ideal for FTTH technicians working with flat
Cons
  • Vulgarity
