I've been using these pads for 3 weeks now and so far so good. None of the 8 rubber bands are torn or anything like that. I'll post an update if anything happens

You are doing a good job. However, they look flimsy and cannot be 100% trusted to hold up. When it comes down to it later and they fall off, I just stick these clear stickers on my frame.

Cables can (and do) rub against the bike frame, wearing away paint over time and leaving unsightly rub marks. I bought them to fit on a new bike and so far they seem to be doing what they are supposed to do - protect the frame of the bike. The product has a pleasant stiffness and softness (flexible and suitable for cable bends, and also does not cause paint abrasion).

They are very easy to install, look good and do exactly what they are supposed to do - reduce cable friction on the frame. HOWEVER the material used doesn't stand up to heat well and either fell off my bike or slipped off the cable. Where I am we have 100 degree weather, after one ride two of them fell and one slipped down the cable so didn't offer the protection they were supposed to.
