Versatile kitchen helper. Have fun shopping!

I don't usually fall in love with kitchen gadgets. Frustrated with how ineffective my old notched kitchen spoon was and how I hated messing up my large strainer to drain a small amount, I discovered this scoop. Not too big; not too small; precisely. My only "warning" is that it's plastic, so it probably won't hold up to much abuse, especially in the "hot fat world". Pros
  • Ladle and pour directly from the hot pan
Cons
  • The list will be long.

If you have arthritis, get one!

Ideal for scooping bones out of homemade broth, pasta out of water, etc. without having to pour a huge cauldron of boiling liquids and solids into a colander. You can also use it to rinse a portion of berries. It is lightweight and very easy to clean. It's very big and very high, but that's why it's so…

Pros
  • Dishwasher Safe
Cons
  • Modern

It's also great for grabbing veggies when I'm blanching them in water, or chicken breasts I've cooked. I was injured in a car accident and my hands are not in the best condition. This eliminated the need to use pliers for some things. It also made lifting heavy pots filled with liquid almost completely unnecessary. Cooking is therapy for…
