Description of Joshs Frogs Vermiculite 10 Quarts

ULTIMATE INCUBATION MEDIA for snakes, lizards, tortoises, turtles and more! Perfect for professionals and beginners alike. SUPPORTS a CLEAN and STERILE environment for the eggs. RETAINS WATER and slowly releases it throughout incubation so that the eggs have the moisture they need to hatch and produce healthy offspring. LIVE PLANTS also love it in potting mixes as a natural conditioner, which helps the soil stay moist, yet light, so the roots aren’t smothered. MORE UNIQUE SUBSTRATES from Josh’s Frogs! We also offer Dig-It, ABG Mix, Coco Cradle, BioBedding, incubation media, feeder insect beddings, various shredded barks like Aspen, Cypress, Pine, and more!.

Useless and Dusty on my review.

Based on my experience, this substrate was a huge disappointment. It was extremely dusty and ended up causing respiratory issues for my pet. The texture was also rough and didn't provide enough traction for my animal to move around comfortably.

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Dusty and rough texture

Revainrating 5 out of 5

not suitable for reptiles and amphibians

I have used it for hatching reptile eggs. Not sure if it was me or the vermiculite itself, but I couldn't get the eggs to hatch, they just died.

Pros
  • LIVE PLANTS also love it in potting soil as a natural conditioner, helping to keep the soil moist but light so the roots don't suffocate
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Not really. But did the job

Requires Vermiculite for Snake Nest. I couldn't find her anywhere else, I had to buy her something. Found it. Our regular vermiculite was more like earth, but this one is more like sand. At first she wasn't sure if she liked it, it took her a little longer than usual to get comfortable, but eventually she laid her balls so it must have been ok.

Pros
  • PERFECT BROOD ENVIRONMENT for snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises and more! Ideal for professionals and beginners.
