They come in a pack of 3 1/2" Brass Bushings. They are 1.125 inches long and appear to be well made. I can't speak to the tensile strength of the metal, but the one I used worked fine. These traditional brass fittings are very well made from properly formed traditional brass. Being made from traditional brass means the metal contains lead. Current standards require that only lead-free brass be used in contact with potable water (drinking, cooking, etc.). As such they are excellent for use with other liquids but not for domestic plumbing needs.

They have very good threads. And as a bonus, they were in stock, which was the polar opposite of both of my big local stores.
