The latch mounts into the existing old mounting holes. But as others have said, the arm needs to be bent slightly to fit well. Otherwise it looks like it will last MUCH longer than a plastic cap.

Works well. We like it better than the plastic ones because they seem to hold up better over time. Plastic is easy to bend and deform. Just hope this one doesn't rust from exposure to the elements!

The metal is very thin but it beats the plastic that has already chipped on our RV. This was on a 2003 Fleetwood Pioneer 18T6. Doesn't fit perfectly but it worked. It doesn't exactly match the door either, but if the guy wanted to drill two extra holes he could do it easily enough.

I have ordered two of these items as 'New'. One of them was opened and then taped shut. Two required screws were missing. I'm sick of this kind of service from Revain. Otherwise everything was good. I was frustrated and would have sent them both back if they hadn't been needed at the time.
