JR Products GSNI 5300 60 Gas Spring Review

Just ordered from the doctor. The two cars I bought hold the large rear cargo door on my Holiday Rambler and now open and close easily. It's been a few months and they still work like the first day I installed them.

I use these to hold the tailgate of a teardrop trailer that I built and completed in September 2015. They worked fine for the first two rides, but one of them lost gas pressure and I bought a replacement. After a few weeks the other gas spring lost pressure and I'm replacing both with a different brand. I don't have any lateral pressure on them so I don't understand why they broke.

Installing these lifts was quite a pain. The instructions are rubbish and the security tab (at least that's what I call it) is dodgy. You have to remove it just far enough to get that jack in place and then put it back in place without removing it. One of the security tabs fell out and I spent 30 minutes trying to put it back on. However, once in place, they stayed in place and work great! The price also seems fair to me. Just be careful when installing them.
