Manufacturing error and defective fan. poor quality control

First, let me say that I don't write reviews often. and it's seldom that I'm ever so motivated to leave a negative review that I actually do. I am giving this unit 1 star due to obvious manufacturing defects. The unit came with no instructions so I could only guess how to assemble it. It's not difficult, I was able to figure out how to assemble it very easily. There were 2 issues with this unit: 1) Some of the holes for the included fan mounting screws appear to be unthreaded as the included…

Pros
  • Slim and straight aluminum material, ultra-thin design and easy installation
Cons
  • High price

Great heatsink but fans lose bearing grease after 60 days

Tip: use thermal paste instead of thermal pads I used Artic Silver 5- Dot thermal paste method on each of the chips, and the temperature while idling for 3 hours (see attached photo) in a temperature controlled room (72°F) is a staggering 37°C out of the box at 1.5GHz. Overclocked to 2.0GHz, idle for another 3 hours at 39C. the benefit of it other than gratifying my obsessive-compulsive disorder. The fans are quiet and I am very satisfied with the volume. I looked at various cooling options…

Pros
  • Quiet dual fan with no noise and excellent cooling performance, can lower temperatures by up to 30-37 degrees
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Good value for money but a few poor design choices

Not sure if 3 or 4 stars this article. On the one hand you get a lot of value for about 10€. On the other hand, if you don't take the time to fix bugs, that's just a minor quality. First of all, the product comes with 3 blue spacers made of 3M™ 9448A double-sided cloth tape. It's definitely *not* a thermal pad, just double-sided tape. Not totally useless, but a poor heat conductor making the cooling part of the case much worse than it should be. So you could use thermal paste if it wasn't for…

Pros
  • Passive cooling and heat dissipation case, built in three heatsink posts to fit snugly within the Raspberry Pi 4's embedded chipset No more overheating issues
Cons
  • weak
