Big disappointment.

I've finally decided on a good gas bottle. I didn't need it right away because I had to use up the gasoline in my little plastic gas canisters. So I end up filling this new jar and sending it to the store. I go out to use it and notice a small puddle of gas on the floor. I empty the can, look at the bottom and see 4 evenly spaced crush marks in the bottom of the can. One of them (circled in yellow in the photo) has a slow leak. The box the glass came in was not damaged and I have taken care of…

I do not recommend the product

I ordered a steel gas cylinder on August 31, 2019. At first I thought I had made an excellent purchase over the heavily regulated plastic gas cartridges that never work properly or leak or spill. Gas. This steel cylinder did not leak at any part of the cylinder when filling the cylinder with gas as well as when refueling generators. As always, I kept the petrol can in the shed together with other tools. It was 10-20% full. I'm not sure when that happened as it was taken away for the winter but…

The best gas bottle in the world. Honest.

Well, the new EPA gas cartridges with dumb valves on the market are a prime example of junk technology. I've tried several different models and the valves either stick or don't open at all. There is no excuse. Then I discovered a 5 gallon jar of Justrite AccuFlow. It outperforms all other gas cylinders with its quality, ease of filling and superior construction. Smaller gas canisters cower in fear and resignation and have been redesigned. Perhaps they will return to the market in the form of…

The only way to keep gas safe (IMHO)

Like many people who store gas, I've used these cheap plastic containers for years and have never felt safe using them. You may have heard stories that because they don't have spark arrestors in their spouts, they can break under pressure or even explode. And plastic IS porous, so it can evaporate into the atmosphere over time. Read forum comments on later CARB-approved doses. They leak gas when trying to use them and are difficult to use without spilling - it doesn't help the environment nor…

Pros
  • Self-closing lid protects against fumes and spills
Cons
  • Easily torn
