Super strong brakes!

I put these on our 02 4runner along with braided steel cord. The difference to the still very usable factory brakes is striking. At the same time I switched to 285/70-16 tires and the brake is still MUCH more powerful than the factory with the smaller 265/75 tires. I am very happy with these brakes.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Good stopping power

Bought these for my 2002 4Runner. Installed them and was happy with their work. The only thing I don't like is that brake dust is left all over the wheel. I have always used original pads for years, with which I have never had any problems. This kit still works great for my 4Runner.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Negative impression

Rotors MUST be measured before ordering

Good product. However, impeller size cannot be relied upon when selecting rotors. I have a 99 pack 4runner Highlander (16" wheels) and they didn't fit. There is no additional information on the manufacturer's website (only part number X for rotor size Y). Your only choice is to 1) take the brakes apart and measure before ordering, or 2) order both sizes and return the one that doesn't fit. The correct (smaller) rotors for my car require modification of the factory dust shields as they are…

Perfect fit for a 1998 4Runner Limited

I installed this kit on my 1998 Toyota 4Runner 4X4 Limited about two weeks ago. Installation was very easy apart from a couple of really rusty screws and brake pins. NOT the kit's fault - just the effects of age and acid rain on my old Hawaiian truck. Follow the instructions in the letter regarding the burglary. It's REALLY important to "season" the pads and rotors. After a couple of weeks, the brakes and rotors work great - the pedals don't throb on descents like the original equipment. I love

So far so good for the brake system

I usually buy original parts from Toyota dealers or on the Internet. Since I've done my homework and found that Powerstop is a good brand and has the same performance as my 1999 4runner SR5, I'll give it a try. I'm replacing the rotor and brake from the same kit so hopefully they work well together. So far, so good. For parts recycling, my city of Huntington Beach, California accepts the parts. I'll be back with an update, maybe in a year. until now. It works better than my other car, Toyota…

  • Many fit

  • poorly thought out

Before you start, check the size of the rotor!

Wrong rotor size for my 2001 forerunner. (Too big) I bought the "special damaged box" with confidence because amazons have been great with fast and correct shipping over the years and their parts installation interface indicated the kit was a perfect fit. Well when it arrived the packaging was perfect. So I powered up my truck and started removing the calipers and old rotors and installing new ones. The 6 lug pattern matched, but when I tried to reinstall the calipers I realized I had a real…
