Made from very strong cowhide leather in Mexico, this attractively embossed leather sheath fitted my KA-BAR Mark II knife (WWII Vintage) perfectly. Like a quality baseball glove, the cover feels thick and stiff, but once broken in, it fits perfectly. It took a little strength and stretching, but I was able to snap the straps onto the knife handle. After leaving the button on for a few minutes, I unzipped it and was able to reattach the straps fairly easily. The sheath is well finished…

this sheath looks high quality and fits my cabaret knife perfectly. except for the handle lock. wondering if anyone has any ideas on this. My Kabar knife is the official Navy knife of the mid 1970's; a good friend gave it to me when he retired from the Marine Corps in 1978 or 1979 (so he probably got it in 1975 or so). I've had my KABAR since I was 19 years old. The scabbard, while technically sound, has definitely seen heavy use in the nearly 25 years that I have owned it. First of all. I went ahead and gave this one a 5 star rating even though the sheath closure didn't fit my KA-BAR the way I would have liked. The reason it doesn't fit is because my KA-BAR is a WWII (1944-1945) Camillus Issued Knife model. The handle of my particular model of knife is slightly wider than the USMC knife made and sold today. Not really a big deal, with a small modification, removing the original strap and replacing the 550 cable all is fine! I'm sticking with a 5 star rating…
