Pass on. - Cutlery & Knife Accessories

Junk. waste of money. He doesn't sharpen. any knife. General. Even a thin slit does nothing to the blade. I have 3 Kai knives and at one point thought this would be great for a blade. But no.

Did its job well for cutlery and knife accessories

Designed for a fairly specific set of knives (ie made by that manufacturer, with a specific blade angle). He did his job by sharpening a long-used knife that hadn't been sharpened in years.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

BIG LITTLE SHARPENER FOR EXPENSIVE KNIVES

I have a set of $350 Cangshan knives that arrive razor sharp. I have knife sharpeners ranging from $10 to $160. For only $20, this thing can make German steel sharp enough to shave with. Definitely worth the money.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Not sure

Worst of several types tested, overpriced

Fragile, overpriced, failed on 3rd knife. returned. I thought if I paid more money I could get a better quality knife sharpener. This is the worst grinding tool I have ever bought. Do not buy. I have received my refund. This is when I love Revain and the return policy

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Don't sharpen! best in category Cutlery and knife accessories

I would never want to refute a product that someone has developed and wants to make a living from, but this product has absolutely no value. Zero! My knives don't wear out after going through this sharpener and what's worse, nothing was ever sharpened! I used it for five months hoping that after all my tries the magic would sort of add up, but no, nothing like that happened. Please take a look at your product and see if you can get it to work as described.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Great and easy sharpener for my Shun

I have a Shun Classic set and send it to the store to be sharpened. However, Kai changes his enchantment partner, and it takes me much longer to send. I found this and decided to give it a try. This works very well for my knives. I pull about 10 times for each slot and the knives come out great. The woman notices that the knives are sharper. For the small price this is a great little tool and I don't have to worry about the angle when sharpening.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Almost never

Recommended for quick and easy sharpening

My Shun knives have been in need of a sharpening for a long time but I have never bothered to return them to Shun for their free sharpening service. Considering the sharpener is less than $20 I would give it a try. I followed the directions on the box and finished sharpening all 4 of my Shun knives (peeler, utility, 10" chef and 8" santoku) in about 5 minutes. I followed the curve of the blade through the rough, fine, and grinding steps. All are very hot again and pass the Ripe Tomato Test. I…

Pros
  • Easy to use

  • For old knives

Easy to use but a little disappointed.

I'm a big fan of Shun knives. They stay sharp for a long time, but sometimes need to be resharpened. I usually just ship it back to Shun, but it takes a while to ship back and forth. I was thinking of using wet whetstones but I'm not experienced enough. I've seen this on Shun, maybe it's perfect for their knives. As soon as I received it, it looks beautiful. Excellent quality. But after trying it with my Shun chef's knife, I felt it was just like any other 3-step sharpening tool. This is not…
