Bought for my 4.5 year old who is 39 pounds and 43 inches tall. Size 4 (not 4T) fits him perfectly. It has 4 pockets perfect for collecting shells on the beach plus a small 5th mesh pocket in the waistband. Nice soft fabric, good build quality, no worse than other top brands like the speedometers I own. Be sure to buy this swimsuit for your children! The main reason is that the laces are fully functional and not decorative! Most swim trunks have decorative drawstrings and you cannot tie the drawstring to fit around the waist even if the pants fit perfectly. Apparently the manufacturers just want you to buy a new one and throw away what you already have. As a mom, I hate seeing all those deceptive and pretentious designs. I really don't need to buy more until they really outgrow their size…
