Kaytee 100213826 Liberty Bell: 15 Ounce Hammock for Small Pets Review

Unfortunately the bird feeder bell I received fell into pieces on arrival. I couldn't hang it up as it was completely torn from the stem. As a result, I just threw it on the ground for the squirrels to eat. Therefore I cannot recommend this product. The product looked well packaged and had a lot of bubble wrap inside so I'm not sure why it didn't survive the journey.

Although birds seem to like the seed, it's actually not a bell. It was completely broken and hanging on the bell. For this reason I took the package to the park and opened it there. I scattered all the seeds and the birds, mostly pigeons, quickly flew in. They enjoyed the feast, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. It's really really bad, but I think I'll have to buy them from pet stores instead.

This bell shaped bell came in a padded envelope with no extra padding. So of course it arrived in far from perfect condition. I would estimate about a quarter of it was broken and crumbled. I dumped it on the ground by the bird feeders. It says it's ready to hang, but there's nothing inside to hang it on. My husband took a piece of string and tied it under the plastic piece at the top and then hung it up. The birds seem to love it!

I would not recommend this birdbell, especially at the extremely high price. My Poop Bell arrived completely broken and unusable for its intended purpose so I just took it apart and threw it down the poop chute outside. None of the birds have come to eat yet, but I hope they like the seeds once they find them. I got this bell for free for my honest opinion, but if I had paid full price I would be extremely disappointed that my money was wasted. Maybe some restructuring is needed, I don't know…

Kaytee Liberty Bell does not ship well, mine arrived mostly in half and cracked into pieces making it impossible to actually hang. I just placed the pieces on the outside of a dead tree stump where I planted seeds for my ground feeding birds and they seem to like the seeds on their own. Just don't plan for the bell to arrive perfectly formed. It crumbled so easily that I wouldn't even buy it whole from the store or come home with it to keep it whole. Very nice bird feeder bell for wild birds. Unfortunately, due to the hard work of delivery, it was not delivered safe and sound. :-( I would love to see it hanging from a tree but ground feeders are much happier these days. It came in a box but with little packaging to protect it. The packaging was deflated and the bell broke. Check how Revain packages their product for shipping, but I would recommend that the manufacturer pack the call in a heavier box rather than just flimsy plastic and then…

Perhaps these types of seeds are too fragile to send by post. Ours came with half a bell - crushed seeds from the top lay at the bottom of the pack. This item is too expensive for that. Besides the broken bell, I have two other comments. Could Katie have made the hanging hole smaller? This top hanging piece prevents anything with a regular hook size from slipping through.
