This new model/version is terrible - do not buy until it is fixed

Coated nuts and bolts prevent installation. In total I have 5 sets of these for our ATVs. The last two sets came with bits and screws coated with something (probably to prevent rust) which made them impossible to tighten without disassembling them on a plastic 'holder'. Something has changed - the packaging is different and the hardware no longer works. Do not buy them until you have confirmed that the problem is solved. You will be disappointed.

Expensive but worth every penny

I have these brackets to mount 4" headlights to the rear of my 2021 Crosstrek. The headlights are attached to a basket on the roof of the Thule Canyon XT. I bought a .75-1" mount and just used one of the rubber pieces that came with it. The mounts seem to be quite firmly attached. There is no slipping or movement at all. I was able to easily mount them "upside down" and let the light down so loading camping gear into the cart isn't difficult at all.If you need the perfect mount these are the…

Sturdy but very expensive

This auxiliary light clip is quite sturdy and will hold your lights well to a 2" round lightbar or bull bar. However, for the $20 price point, you would expect there to be 2 clips in the kit. But only with one. I picked mine up at Pep Boys during a buy one get one free promotion. Spending $40 online for two plastic zip ties just wasn't worth it. I wore them on my blazer for about two and a half years and they have held up great. In general, the product is good, but the price is too high.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Perfect mount for a polished look KC

Firstly, yes you can absolutely get a good set of mounts that work well for less money. Big. Fit and function: perfect. No game, mounts and gear are safe. Installation: Easy, but the version I have requires a 4.5 hex disc. Also, it's easier if you do 1/4 turn, then move to the next screw and do 1/4, repeat. Otherwise, it may move (for example, when installing a mount for an optical sight). I also applied some blue Loctite. Overall: The look and feel couldn't be better. About a month after the…

Love them Daylighters

Bought these to display a set of vintage KC Daylighters. Yes they cost more than they possibly should but I have used KC products for decades, I love their Daylighters and in my opinion they are second to none. This is the first time I have bought these mounts and I have to say they are well designed and well made. I didn't want them to be plastic but after receiving and looking at them I have to admit my fears are gone. They appear to be very strong, perhaps as strong as steel clamps. I can…
