Virtually useless! They will stretch about 3-4 inches - with a lot of effort. If that's all you need, they seem well made. But if you need a cable with some stretch, look elsewhere.

These bins have a small plastic bulb at the end so despite the picture on the packaging they will not fit in Rubbermaid bins. Due to the plastic tip, the hook is too wide to fit through the hole in the handle.

I bought these elastic cords to keep the folder from unfolding during storage. They worked great. They stretch well and the 24 inch length was perfect for what I needed them for. The quality is pretty good and I expect them to last quite a while without breaking or breaking.
