HEPA Filter Replacement for Sears Kenmore EF-1 Vacuum Cleaner, Part #86889 (EF-1*3) by ATXKXE Review

I just changed the filters on my Sears Progressive vacuums for the first time. I've had it for years and have never changed the motor's external or internal filters and I have bought both filters and replaced them in both of my vacuums. Doesn't matter. Highly recommended.

I was wary of ordering third party filters for my Kenmore upright vacuum. But when I got them I compared them to the branded Kenmores I had in my car, they were the exact size, fit and looked good quality. I'm very glad I found them and will be ordering more to have on hand.

The other two looked like they had been glued by a 4 year old: one was dangling and the other with a big gap. I put a good filter in my vacuum and it seems to be working fine. When it comes time to change this one I have no idea how to fix the gasket.

As I have 2 fluffy babies I have to deal with it all the time and change filters so that when I vacuum the dog hair smell doesn't come back into the house. They're strong enough to last longer than I use them, but that goes for all the "love" dogs leave me every day!

Finally got around to replacing vacuum filters? A good rule of thumb: when you change the battery in your smoke alarm, also check, clean and/or replace the filters on your home, car and garden equipment. Grab a few more and keep them near your vacuum cleaner so you don't forget them.

We've had a Kenmore stand for years and never realized there was a HEPA filter that needed replacing from time to time. We only found out about this when the sensor light came on, telling us the air intake was low and we'd just replaced the pouch. Either way, this filter was the perfect replacement. And that sensor didn't light up anymore!

I've had my trusty Kenmore canister vacuum for years and I didn't even know there was a filter at the bottom of the vacuum until it started making noise. REALLY dirty filter cartridge. These replacement cartridges are well made, fit perfectly and are reasonably priced (IMO). I gave them 5 stars for suction and cleanliness on a whim; Of course I can't really know now.

One of us vacuums everything in this house; one of us barely knows how to turn it on. However, since the Sears closed, filters have been hard to come by, and they seem to have helped. They were packaged in a plastic bag, but all three arrived in good condition, which is surprising given how shipping is these days. The price was good and the delivery was quick. I'll post an update in a few months if any of us don't like something about them.

Kenmore vacuums are like old Chrysler six cylinder tilt heads - they last forever if kept in good condition. The Kenmore vacuum requires bag and filter changes to eliminate odor and keep it running smoothly. (Also check the filter above the motor to replace it or soak in bleach water and let it FULLY dry before reinstalling if it holds odors.)
