Mediocre lock for an expensive Macbook Pro.

I bought this lock from Microcenter (aftermarket and discounted 15.00 so I could keep it) because of Kensington's reputation as a manufacturer of laptop locks. Pros: 1. Cable flex (6ft is fine too, but most laptop locks are that long).2. A rubber ring around the end of the lock reduces the possibility of scratching and tearing off the laptop security lock.3. The unwieldy combo finish feels solid and should incapacitate a non-standard thief. Cons: 1. Many people already express their dislike for

SURVIVED malicious burglary

Yes this product is cumbersome to insert and use, it took me 30 minutes to figure it out. But after the first experiences IT WORKS. My apartment was robbed last week. I wall mounted my desktop with this lock and it survived. The robber made a very diligent attempt to pick the lock, attempting both to cut the wire (cutting only one strand of the wire) and trying to pick the lock himself with a screwdriver. By the end, he was so upset that (or she!) took a knife and scratched my iMac's screen…

Finally given up trying to make it work

Probably the worst design object ever invented. I spent an hour and a half to get it working. Vain. I was close to tears, I was so sad. My husband took over with the same result. It's useless junk. I'm not new to computer locks, so I certainly didn't understand the concept. Even if we could get it to work, the design requires your hands to be rotated at a very bizarre, backward angle to the computer case, and the toggle switches are almost impossible to turn. Please note that I read the reviews

Great lock, easy to use.

This lock gets a five star rating if the instructions are correct. I received this block today and it only took 2 minutes to change the number and get it up and running. As one of the previous reviewers mentioned, the instruction for changing the combination number is wrong: if you use a coin to turn the bezel, it turns clockwise instead of counterclockwise as the manual says, and the angle of rotation is 45 degrees instead. 90 degrees as indicated in the instructions. Turning the bezel is…

This lock works!

I recently bought this lock for my IBM Thinkpad T61. My first impression of this castle far exceeded my expectations. The lock looks professional and secure. Of course, it's not just about how well you make a product, but also how well you explain it to customers. Kensington doesn't do well with the second part. That's the only reason I gave it a 4/5. I had a hard time understanding this part for a few minutes. But I'll find out for myself soon. To avoid this pain for others, here are the…
