I bought this coat for my 11 year old granddaughter for Christmas. She is tall and thin. We tried the large size first and it was too tight in the shoulders and too short. Size XL is a little big on the shoulders but the length is good and will hopefully last a few years. My granddaughter loved the stretch fabric and look of this show coat.

Bought this for my daughter's upcoming show. I had a feeling it would be small, but I took a risk. Well, it's definitely not enough. She is quite tall, she is 12 years old and size XL did not fit. She put it on but couldn't button it. Unfortunately we have to send it back. Also, the fabric doesn't look like a traditional show coat. It is more of a nylon material than cotton. FYI there is also a zipper under the buttons.

Nice fit and design, the material is stretchy, lightweight and looks like it will wash and wear well. However my son is a chunky 10 year old and I bought size L (12-14) and the jacket is very tight around the shoulders and chest and there is almost no room for a shirt underneath. Also, the sleeves are unusually narrow and fit more like a shirt than a jacket. However, the length is appropriate for a riding jacket, so I'm not sure increasing the size will solve the fit issues.

My daughter LOVES this show coat. It fits snugly and isn't that bulky. So it's not as hot in the summer months and looks a lot better when things get tight. She is 6 years old and we ordered a small one. So other coats we've had in the past with padded shoulders have looked bulky and uncomfortable and lift up when she rides it, but this coat looks great and she can move and ride in it. ! My child is usually 10/12 in regular girls clothes (Old Navy, Gap, Carter's etc.). We ordered this jacket in size XL (14/16) and it fits perfectly. This is a nice lightweight jacket perfect for playing in Florida and doesn't need to be dry cleaned (bonus!). However, this is not a $100 jacket even by equestrian apparel standards. Even if you included the usual markup just for adding the words "riding" / "equestrian sport" to the description, it would be a $70 jacket at best. But we needed it…

We were expecting much warmer weather for my daughter's first performance. It performed well at a 20 degree spread during a 7 hour WIND AND RAIN show at 60°-80°.
